2012 Review: People360’s Major Leap

By S. S. Suarez

In 2012, People360 was the fastest and most aggressive third party testing group in terms of growth and market share.  It now counts major multinational companies in food manufacturing, power generation and distribution, oil and gas industry, construction and shipping as its clients.  With merely 5 full-time personnel when it started in April 6, 2011, it now has 28 personnel and keeps on growing.  It constructed offices in Carmona, Cavite and Cebu where its major clients are located.

From a single detached office in Quezon City, it built two training rooms that can accommodate 50 plus people.  Attribute this to the growing demand for quality training both for BOSH and COSH.

People360’s aggressive growth in 2012 is not surprising.   Credit goes to its visionary leaders Cesar Dumayag and Robert De Guzman.  Asked for the secret of their success, the amiable People360 president Cesar Dumayag would always say “hardwork, passion for quality and prayers remain their formula for success.”

Cesar told me a story of his memorable experience in Cebu.  After visiting the famous  Sto. Nino Cathedral and the Buddhist Temple in Cebu, two projects immediately materialized when he received phone calls from two prospective clients.  Indeed, God’s grace is awarded to those who show honesty, hardwork and piety.  I cannot agree less.  To quote from the Gospel of Matthew 7:7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”  God favor those who seek and ask for His grace.  He abhors those who are arrogant, conceited and self-righteous.

2012 was also the year that People360 launched its website last February.  Its layout is classic but impressive.  It is one of the most frequently visited safety-related websites based on the number of hits and comments received.   It perked up the site by introducing the first ever safety blog in the country.

True to its promise, the blog tackled not only safety related issues but also human interest stories that touched the heart and Filipino spirit. Every blog is special. Whenever I pound my fingers on the computer keyboard and churn out the words for this blog, I feel energized and “possessed.” The adrenalin rush I get from writing gives me a different high.

The series of blogs on the qualities and skills of a safety practitioner elicited positive feedback from safety practitioners around the globe. Besides the two series, the other memorable blogs for this writer is “Yellow”, “My Encounters with Modern Day Heroes”, The Ondoy Tragedy”, “Human Factors in Safety”, “A Tribute to the Departed”, “Recognition On The Battlefield” among many others.

Most importantly, I’m inspired by what I do and what I can do positively for other people.  Writing is a gift that should be used positively.  Hence, I’m very thankful to People360 for giving me the chance to write blogs for this website. It gave me the opportunity to go back to my second love which is writing.  My first love, by the way, is basketball.   Though hampered by ACL on my left knee, I still engage in my favorite sport. That would be another story of course.

For 2013, People360 has rolled out its plans and programs with a promise to be bigger and stronger.  There will be no let-up in getting more clients in inspection and testing as well as in training.  Amid the success and potential growth of the company, its leaders would remain steadfast, patient and grounded.  Most importantly, it will never forget their success formula -- “hardwork, passion for quality and prayers.”
