"Gondola Safety Training" Conducted by People360

MANILA, 2 October 2011 — People360 Consulting Corporation added a new safety course in its safety training and certification program. The "Gondola Safety Training" is designed for gondola operators at construction sites to ensure safety in its operations.

Sometimes called "crane supported work platform" or "suspended platform", gondola in the construction industry means a personnel platform which is raised, lowered, and held in working position by the hoisting line of a crane or hoist, or is attached to a crane boom.  Generally, the occupants of platforms suspended from cranes or attached to crane booms do not have direct personal control over the movement of the platform.

This training course is a pre-requisite knowledge of a gondola operator prior to allowing or authorizing them to work on or operate this equipment. The one-day training includes lecture and actual use of gondola, specifically the (a) operation of controls, daily check and inspection of safety devices, and (b) safe use of body harness.
